Notes: I have found no advertisements offering the book by subscription. Hoyle registered the work at Stationers' Hall on 1751-01-18, but the imprint and February advertisement show that Jolliffe had purchased the copyright. An advertisement for the Dublin reprint indicates that the price of the London edition was half a guinea. For further discussion see the essay "A Short Treatise on the Game of Brag (1751)".
