| Notes: |
A near line-for-line resetting of the card games only from Jockey.1. The catchword anomoly on B1v(6) ("By" rather than "If") was clearly caused by
setting type from Jockey.1, where the corresponding text on K3r(41) correctly
has
the catchword "By". It is unclear how Wallis came to acquire the rights from Etherington,
although
perhaps it relates to Ethrington's 1783 bankruptcy. Bound in marbled wrappers and issued in a slip case with an engraved label, an image
of
which is available on the Cornell University Library web site. |
